Families for Effective Autism Treatment

The information and resources on the Northwest Indiana Families for Effective Autism Treatment (INFEAT) Website (The Site) are for educational and informational purposes only. Information provided through The Site should not be used as a substitute for care by a qualified Developmental Pediatrician, Pediatric Neurologist, Behavioral Psychologist, Behavior Analyst, Speech and Language Pathologist, Attorney, or other appropriate professional.

We Are a group of parents in N.W. Indiana who have children diagnosed with autism, ASDs (Autism Spectrum Disorders) or PDD-NOS (Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified).

We Believe that all individuals with autism have great potential and that early, effective intervention is necessary to allow them to fulfill that potential.

Our Goal is to provide accurate information, support, resources, and hope for Indiana families of children with autism.

Our Objectives are 1) to promote understanding and use of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)/Applied Verbal Behavior (AVB) as effective treatments for autism, 2) to provide information to parents and professionals regarding dietary and biomedical treatment options which can alleviate or eliminate many of the symptoms of autism, 3) to facilitate early identification and diagnosis,
4) to educate medical, educational, political and lay communities about autism, and 5) to help Indiana families stay informed regarding legislative issues affecting individuals with autism and their families.

The first FEAT organization (www.feat.org) originated in California in 1993.
